First Impression Friday | Precious Cargo: My Year of Driving the Kids on School Bus 3077

First Impression Friday is hosted by J.W. Martin @ Storeys of Stories. I found out about it from Kristen @ Kristen Kraves Books.

What is it? First Impression Friday is a meme where you talk about a book that you JUST STARTED! Maybe you’re only a chapter or two in, maybe a little farther. Based on this sampling of your current read, give a few impressions and predict what you’ll think by the end. Did you think you’d love and ended up hating it? Or did you think you’d hate it and wound up loving it? Or were you exactly right? I think what will really make this meme a lot of fun, is linking back to it from your review to say, “Look at how wrong I was!” OR “See? I knew it all along!”

I am just about 25-30 minutes into listening to this book on the Libby app, and I am loving it! I was a school bus kid myself from Kindergarten right up until those days in Grade 12 where I couldn’t borrow my mom’s car to drive to school. My experience is what first attracted me to this book, because I knew I might be able to relate! Plus I love memoirs, and my preferred way to enjoy a memoir is as an audiobook, so here we are! It took a me a few days after I finished my last read to choose my next one, but I think I hit the nail on the head with this choice as it really interesting me (more so than what I’m reading in print, TBH)!

Craig Davidson is a Canadian author too, which is a bonus. And I get the feeling this chapter of being a bus driver was a meaningful turning point in his life. I’ll let you know all the details in my review! Hopefully, this book gets more and more intriguing as it goes on. If so, I just might be predicting a 5 star read here!

Has anyone else read this book? Did you love it or hate it? Let me know!
